Art Walk: Alfonso Martinez Mendez

Join Mind & Mill for Riverside Artswalk during Riverside County Innovation Month. They currently are showing the work of Alfonso Martinez Mendez.

Alfonso was born in Mexico City, where he nurtured a deep love for nature, learning, writing and drawing. At the age of twenty four he was admitted to the La Esmeralda Art School where he studied under Ernesto Vasquez and Rolando Arjona. In 1984, Alfonso won first place in the prestigious Academia de Artes. He went on to work as an illustrator in the comic book industry for three decades. In 2007, Alfonso moved to the US and has exhibited his work in multiple galleries, as well as civic and educational institutions across Inland Southern California.

Mind & Mill will be showcasing a huge portion of Alfonso’s briliant abstract paintings and gorgeously minimal graphite drawings. This a free event and open to the public.

Beaumont’s Economic Development Department and the Bank of Hemet will host a meet and greet event on Monday, April 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Beaumont Civic Center, located at 550 E. 6th Street, with the purpose of identifying this niche of businesses owners. Startup companies can come in all forms and sizes and the City’s Business Resource Center is ready to provide assistance with research on the target market, access to capital, mentorships, and other elements to successfully launch the next innovative product, service, process or platform.
